Q. How many days can I hire props for?

Our hire period is 7 days. This is to give you enough time across pre-production, shoot and post-production so you’re not running around like a crazy person. Feel free to return your hire before the 7 days is up, however this does not decrease the hire price. Where possible, an extended hire period can be arranged for an additional hire fee.

Q. Do I need to make an appointment to come in?

Sure do! Please email studio@theestablishmentstudios.com.au or call 0468 383 023 to arrange a time that suits Monday - Friday between 9.30am and 4pm.

Q. Can I hire props onine or do I need to come in and make my selection?

If you’re short on time, are already familiar with our props, or you have to cross the Yarra to get here… online is a great option. Fill your cart, screenshot your wishlist , email it through to us at studio@theestablishmentstudios.com.au and we will prep and pack your order for collection.

If you prefer to get all touchy feely with the props (or just want to see us ;) make an appointment to come in. We will pack your selection and you can take it with you then and there.

Q. Do I need to make payment straight away?

Payment is due prior to collection.

Q. Do you deliver?

Potentially! This will depend on when and where you’re shooting, and if your hire fits in our car. If it’s a match, we will quote for this service upon enquiry.

Q. Are all your props on the website?

Approximately 3,000 of our 4,000 props are currently on the website. Getting this to 100% is a work in progress! For now, if you’re looking for something you can’t see, please give us a shout.

Q. Do you hire props for events?

It’s not our favourite thing to do, but feel free to try us. Experience has demonstrated that props get damaged when hired for events, but if you’re hosting a civilised function as opposed to a boozy party we might cave.

Q. It looks like you only have one of each prop?

We have multiples of some things but for the most part photographic stylists just need singles - so that’s what we carry. There is a quantity dropdown on the page of each individual prop listing so if it only lets you add one to your cart, that’s because we only have one.

Q. Do you still hire out your studio?

After an amazing 11yrs, The Establishment Studios in Fitzroy closed permanently in May 2024! We then moved the studio’s in-house prop hire collection to East Brunswick and began trading as Est Prop Library.

Q. Can you recommend another studio to shoot in?

Happy to give recommendations pending your needs. If it’s a friendly and affordable warehouse studio vibe you’re after, look no further than our ware-housemate Gale St Studios!

Q. How can I take advantage of the prop package you used to offer at your studio in Fitzroy?

We offer the same prop package if you shoot at Gale St Studios! Let us know when you’re shooting at GSS and we can lock it in. $300 per day and you will have access to the entire collection.

Q. Do you still hire wall flats or large backgrounds?

Our focus has shifted to large canvas backdrops which you can view on the website.
